free arts. transforming lives through creativity.
the tagline is impressive, simplistic and to the point. a brilliant and beautiful idea. if you've never seen a child get lost in art? well...you need to. a longtime favorite charity of mine "
free arts" aims straight for the heart. the program provides free and innovative art programs to children who have suffered abuse, neglect, homelessness and poverty with the desire to inspire hope and self-esteem. as i was out on business last week i asked katie and lauren to experience the free arts
art swagger. what a great way to give to a charity? food, drink, art and architecture? downtown on a warm evening? so cool! this is the fourth year art swagger has chosen free arts as their charity and i'm hoping for a fifth so i can go next year!

art swagger is a multi-firm art walk that picks a charity to support each year, so the fact that the evening benefitted free arts through ticket sales and an amazing silent auction was a match made in art heaven! armed with our map of the art swagger route, we set out for the first of nine architecture and design firms located within walking distance of each other in downtown LA. each firm opens their doors to host the work of up and coming artists, turning their showrooms and offices into swanky art galleries for the night - complete with DJs, drinks, and party-perfect cheese plates. between destinations, we passed other attendees at different points on their art swagger route making it feel like we were part of a community block party in the heart of downtown. we ended the evening at the finish line party and silent auction hosted by Interior Office Solutions followed by a delicious dinner at
perch, where we could rest our feet and soak in the skyline! until next year!
