xo,
gaye.
how are you taking care of yourself and your loved ones during this time? are there certain things that are proving to be sources of motivation/ inspiration? if so, please feel free to share.
since we have no choice, but to go through this crazy time, i've chosen to embrace it and find the positives. prior to this year, i was constantly on the road traveling for work - spending time at home has been a welcome change. i'm cooking more, seeing a select few friends more, and finally catching up on some shows and books.
how do you embody kai's "breath*life*flow" lifestyle?
this kind of ties into my answer above. i try my best to not resist change, but to embrace it instead. flow with it. resisting only creates anger and resentment. if you can flow with change, and adopt and see the bright side, it all works better.
what's the best advice you've ever received?
don't waste time worrying about something that won't matter in a year.
do you have a mantra you live by?
worrying is a waste of time. nothing positive comes out of worrying, especially over something you have no control over. it's best to put that energy into actions you CAN take.
what's your beauty secret or must-have beauty product?
i am a total product junkey and truly believe that using quality products from as early on as possible, makes a huge difference in the way we age and feel. ALWAYS take your makeup off at night - buy white pillow cases if you have to so you know you'll ruin them if you don't take your makeup off! my must-have beauty product at the moment is the kai body buffer. the dry LA weather wreaks havoc on my skin, but the body buffer instantly buffs away dry skin and leaves me feeling silky, smooth and hydrated.
go-to lipstick color?
Tom Ford - Spanish Pink.
what color nail polish are you wearing right now?
Essie Couture - Matter of Fiction.
who is your role model?
i can't say that i have just one role model. i take certain traits and values from different people i admire, and go from there.
how would you describe your personal style?
i tend to lean toward classic neutrals, and then i'll add at least one piece to give my look some edge.
what do you love most about where you live? any secret spots you love to go to?
this year especially, i've appreciated how much there is to do outdoors in LA. i've gone hiking and to the beach more than ever.
describe your perfect day.
i'd start with a long walk with my dog to clear my head and get some fresh air going. then maybe a hike with a friend. finish the night with a fun dinner and great wine with friends out at one of our favorite restaurants.
favorite date spot?
Il Piccolino.
ultimate getaway?
South of Italy.
favorite food?
pasta.
guilty pleasure?
ice cream!
kai obsession?
the body buffer followed by the body butter. my skin feels amazing after this duo.
morning person or night owl?
both! it just depends what kind of mood i'm in. sometimes waking up early in the morning before everyone else is up makes me feel so productive for the day. other times, i get inspired to work late at night and i just go with it!
currently craving?
crepes. someone mentioned they had a crepe recently and i've been dying to have one since then.
ideal way to relax/ unwind?
with a long, hot bath and kai bathing bubbles.
what book are you reading currently?
Didn't See That Coming by Rachel Hollis.
what's the most adventurous thing you've done?
booked a trip to Italy a week in advance - one of the days i was there we decided to take a ferry over to an island where locals would rent their boat to you for the day and take you to all these different grottos. i bought a bikini off the street, a bottle of wine and some pizza, and set sail for the day. one of the best days of my life!
thank you... kristine!
