taste of summer
nothing says memorial day better than looking forward to a slice of key lime pie! my niece, sky, made this fantastic recipe for me on mother's day - everyone at our little quarantine family gathering was over the moon with delight. this truly is the best key lime pie i have ever tasted, even including in the florida keys! i am especially thrilled to share this all-american dessert with all of you. enjoy!

xo,
gaye.

key lime pie recipe

ingredients
1 (9in.) graham cracker pie crust (keebler brand is my favorite if using pre-made)
3 cups of sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup of organic sour cream
3/4 cup of key lime (or normal lime) juice
1 1/2 tablespoons grated lime zest

instructions
- preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c).
- in a medium bowl, combine condensed milk, sour cream, lime juice, and lime zest. mix well until there are no clumps and pour into graham cracker crust.
- bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes (until tiny pinhole bubbles burst on the surface of the pie) do not brown. chill pie thoroughly before serving.
- garnish with key lime slices and whipped cream as desired.
