the content planner has one of those truly beautiful, tropical beachy-vibe instagram feeds where her photos literally transport you to the hawaiian tropics. when kat kindly offered to share some tips about how to bring that tropical vibe into your home, we said "yes please"! hope you enjoy the below, and spreading beach vibes your way this memorial day!
xo,
gaye.
if you can't go to the tropics, bring the tropics to you. that's always been my mantra.
as a toronto-based, beach-obsessed entrepreneur who runs her business remotely, escaping to the islands is a monthly routine for me. my flight to tokyo was booked with plans to spend a few weeks on my favourite hawaiian island, oahu. then, the world *PAUSED* and here we are together. more than ever, i've been spending these past few months transforming my 1-bedroom apartment into a tropical safe haven. plants, cozy shag rugs, rattan furniture and the scent of tropical white florals.
kai products feel like home to me. although i don't live in hawaii (yet), the islands speak to my soul. the sweet and subtle scent of gardenia reminds me of morning walks along the pacific ocean in wailea. the hint of jasmine brings me back to watching the sunset in haleiwa.
simply intoxicating.
the candles, reed diffuser and room-linen spray are my fave roommates. in fact, my first kai reed diffuser lasted 1.5 years! you really experience the undeniable quality of a pure, chemical-free room fragrance.
and the hand cream will SAVE your hands from all the hand-washing and sanitizers. plus, i enjoy that it's moisturizing without the greasiness, but absorbs quickly.
from my entryway to the bedroom to the bathroom, kai is there to remind me of the sunshine. i'm using this time as an opportunity to hit 'pause' myself and truly appreciate my home. it may not be a tropical beach, but it's the next best thing.
stay home + stay safe.
with love, kat.
